BaltWreck consortium will be participating in the upcoming Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) held between 11th and 13th of May in Tallinn. This key event, themed “resilience and security,” will be the perfect platform to showcase efforts to clean up the Baltic Sea.
Agenda include key issues for South Baltic region:
-Prevention of catastrophic pollution – how to effectively stop fuel and chemical leaks from wrecks and ammunition dumps.
-Innovative diagnostics – the use of AI technology and advanced 3D methods for non-invasive assessment of the condition of underwater objects.
-In-situ remediation – development of innovative microbiological methods (bioremediation) to neutralize hazards directly on the seabed.
-Legal and decision-making complexities – developing recommendations for policymakers to remove legislative barriers to wreck cleanup.
